Uses Of Multipurpose Liquid Soap
There are basically there uses of multipurpose liquid soap, and all will be discussed below.
- It can be the base of another production.
- Multipurpose liquid soap can be used for light cleaning for wooden tables and other furniture, for mopping the floors, dishwashing, or even clothes.
- It can also be used as grill and tap cleaner to cut grease/oil/dirt build up.

Before I proceed I will love to list the ingredients for multipurpose liquid soap with their functions; so, you can have a better understanding of what each chemicals are doing and why are we adding them into our production of multipurpose liquid soap.
Natorosol [Cleaning and Thickness Agent]: It is a binding and cleaning agent; it also serves as a thickener.
Soda Ash [Cleaning Agent]: It enhances the washing performance of the soap; it’s also the main thickening agent
Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) [is a cleaning and thickening agent]: It is a white, strong alkaline, corrosive solid or powder. Sodium Hydroxide is more commonly known as lye or caustic soda. It is used to change fats into soap in a process called saponification. Another chemical that can be used in place of this is Potassium Hydroxide (KOH), but it’s expensive than NaOH.
The essence of industrial salt in liquid soap is to improve the cleaning performance of the soap and meet the requirement of customers.
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate Powder (SLS) [is a foaming agent] – It is a highly active anionic surfactant finding applications in dentifrices, hand cleaners, bubble baths, liquid hand soaps and shampoo formulations.
Sodium Tripolyphosphate(STPP) [is a cleaning and thickening agent]: It is also known as pentasodium triphosphate, pentasodium tripolyphosphate or sodium triphosphate, is used in a wide range of applications in the manufacture of cleaning products. STPP is a sodium salt of the triphosphoric acid that has the appearance of white crystal powder. It is odorless and is water soluble.
Texapon [is a foaming booster agent]
Sulphonic Acid [is a foaming and cleaning agent]: It is an organic acid, which neutralizes the basic effect of Caustic Soda – Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH).

This adds color to the multipurpose liquid soap, and should always added in small quantity. To much color is not always beautiful.

Ingredients For Multipurpose Liquid Soap That Can Be Inter-Changed
- Natrosol/Antisol/Pacr or Entisol/CMC
- Laurel Rice/Sulphonic Acid
- Formalin/ Citric acid /Vitamin C/ Sodium Benzoate/ Benzoic Acid However, a little application of formalin to your soap formulation should not make your soap
Multipurpose Liquid Soap Formula
Below is the accurate formula to make quality multipurpose liquid soap.
- Water 20 Liters
- Soda Ash 250g
- Caustic Soda 50g
- Industrial Salt N50
- STPP 150g
- SLS 50g
- Natrosol 50g
- Texapon 125ml
- Sulphonic Acid 1 Liter
- Color as desired
- Perfume 25ml
How To Make Multipurpose Liquid Soap Step By Step
The followings are the steps to be taking if you want to produce TEST quality multipurpose liquid soap.
Step 1: Put 15 liters of water in a BIG Balf or mixer.
NOTE: All the water you will be using for the mixture of the other chemicals much be taken from the remaining 5 liters of water. Remember we are making 20 liters of multipurpose liquid soap. So, if you pour 15 liters in a mixer as instructed from the above; you will be left with 5 liters. Okay?
Multipurpose Liquid Soap Mixing Part
Step 2: Get a small bowl and pour the 250g Soda Ash; then mix small amount of water enough to cover the Soda Ash. Stir the mixture very well and keep aside.
Step 3: Get another small bowl and pour the 50g Caustic Soda; then mix small amount of water enough to cover the Caustic Soda. Stir the mixture very well and keep aside.
Step 4: Get another small bowl and pour the N50 Industrial Salt; then mix small amount of water enough to cover the Industrial Salt. Stir the mixture very well and keep aside.
Step 5: Get another small bowl and pour the 150g STPP; then mix small amount of water enough to cover the STPP. Stir the mixture very well and keep aside.
Step 6: Get another small bowl and pour the 50g SLS; then mix small amount of water enough to cover the SLS. Stir the mixture very well and keep aside.
Step 7: Get another bowl and pour the Sulphonic Acid
Step 8: Pour Texapon into the Sulphonic Acid and mix together with enough water to dilute the mixture.
Leave all the mixtures for sometimes to clear.
Multipurpose Liquid Soap Production Part
Step 9: Remember the 15 liters water in the mixer? now, gradually adding Natrosol into the 15 liters of water, like you are making amala.
Step 10: Add the Soda Ash solution to the 15 liters Mixture and stir properly
Step 11: Add the Caustic Soda solution to the 15 liters Mixture and stir properly
Step 12: Add the Industrial Salt solution to the 15 liters Mixture and stir properly
Step 13: Add the STPP solution to the 15 liters Mixture and stir properly
Step 14: Add the SLS solution to the 15 liters Mixture and stir properly
Step 15: Add the Texapon + Sulphonic Acid solution to the 15 liters Mixture and stir properly
Step 16: Add the Color solution to the 15 liters Mixture and stir properly
Step 17: Add perfume to the 15 liters mixture and stir properly
