How To Get Your Product To # 1 On The Clickbank Marketplace

For years, it has been a puzzle as to how to get your product to the top of the Clickbank Marketplace. How is it that one day, a product is nowhere to be found and then the next day, it is number 1 with a gravity of 300 plus?

Did you ever wonder?

Well, for the first time EVER…Steve Wagenheim is going to reveal how this happens. He is speaking from years of experience and being in the right place at the right time. What he discovered will absolutely blow you away. And he has allowed me to share this story with you exclusively.

So I’m going to let Steve take over in his own words.

You will NOT believe what you are about to read.

The Process

Of all the rackets in the IM industry, getting your product to the top of the Clickbank marketplace is one of the biggest rackets. I personally used to wonder how it was done. I mean, how is it possible to have no product in the marketplace one day and the next day have the number 1 seller?

It baffled me to no end.

That was until I was let into the inner circle.

So let me start off by telling you the story of what went down and how I learned about this incredible process. After you are finished reading this, you will never look at this business the same way again.

The only reason I was even let into the inner circle was because I had already had a product in the Clickbank marketplace that was selling very well. In fact, it sold over 200 copies a month for about a year.

Anyway, I was contacted by a very well known Internet marketer who had been cranking out products like crazy. Sorry, I don’t want to mention his name because if I do and he finds out about this report, he’ll probably be really angry for spilling the beans. Suffice it to say, he is one of the big names in the industry.

The offer he gave me was as follows.

Rewrite my current Clickbank product under a pseudo name and re-title it. He would then take care of getting it to number 1 at the Marketplace.

I asked him how. I honestly didn’t expect him to tell me but I guess he respected me because of what I had accomplished so he actually filled me in on the whole long convoluted process.

After I heard it…my jaw dropped to the floor.

What a scam.

Okay, maybe scam is a harsh word. But it’s certainly sneaky as all hell. Technically, there is nothing illegal or even unethical about it. At least I don’t think so. But it’s not how I envisioned the process.

Most people think it’s as simple as this:

1. Submit product to Clickbank for approval.

2. After approval, start promoting it yourself.

3. Get the product in the marketplace so affiliates can find it.

4. Put out some ads for the product AND for affiliates.

5. Eventually, you reach number 1.

Forget it folks…you have a LONG wait…and that’s if you EVER get to number 1.

Sure, you can go through this process and maybe someday hit the top of the charts, but if you want to get there in a DAY…this isn’t going to do it.

So just what is this magical process?

Well, it involves putting together a team. No, you can’t do this yourself. It requires a few people to get the all rolling.

Here are the steps.

Step 1 – Find a solid selling product already in the marketplace…one with a proven track record. This is critical for success. However, it can’t be a number 1 product itself. Anything from 50 on down is a great candidate.

Why?

Because if the product is already selling, then you know the derivative product is going to sell too. You don’t want to take the chance on something new. So this step is an absolute MUST or you are setting yourself up for possible failure. Also, if it is only number 50 on down, then the person will be eager for a better selling product.

Step 2 – Contact the creator of the product and make him this offer.

“I’m approaching you with a one of a kind JV offer. I see you have the number X product in the Clickbank marketplace. How would you like to get that product to number 1 literally overnight? If you’re interested, let me know and I will tell you what needs to be done.

Step 3 – If the product creator gets back to you, send him the following:

“Here is what I need you to do. I need you to rewrite the product slightly. I want you to give it a new title. If you can’t come up with one, don’t worry, we can take care of that part. We also want you to come up with a pseudo name. This way, people won’t confuse this product with the one you already have on the marketplace. Try to add a few things to this version that aren’t in the original.”

At this point in time, it’s a waiting game to see if the product creator will get back to you and then, if he does, if he goes through with creating the new product.

Step 4 – Once you have the product, you need to then get your team together. Here is where it gets very interesting. The first step in getting your team together is getting an editor to proofread the product and get rid of all the typos. The product MUST be top notch before it goes out to the public. A good editor will also clean up the formatting if need be.

Step 5 – Next step is to get a good copywriter but not one who is going to cost a fortune. There are plenty of good copywriters who will do a sales page for $2,000 or less. Once you get a hold of the person, send him the product so that they can write the sales page from it. Don’t worry, a good copywriter will know how to do this.

Step 6 – You next need bonuses that relate. For this, not a problem. Just get a hold of some PLR material that fits the subject matter. You can get 3 or 4 decent ebooks for under $100. Send these to the copywriter as well in order to write the sales copy for the bonuses.

Step 7 – This is the next critical step in the process. You need to get yourself a list manager…somebody who already has a killer sized list. Anything over 100,000 is preferable, but this can still work with lists of 10,000 plus. This person will be paid out of the commission as will the product creator and yourself. I’ll get to the commission breakdown later.

Step 8 – After everything is completed, product and sales page, submit the product to Clickbank for review. It shouldn’t take more than 3 days to be accepted. Make sure you follow ALL their rules. The last thing you want is for this thing to be rejected because you left something out of the process.

Step 9 – After approval, start putting together an affiliate pack. This will include email ads, banners, articles and so on. Outsource whatever you can’t do yourself.

Step 10 – After everything is in place, you contact the person with the list. He is really the key to this whole thing. Let him know that the product is ready to go. He will then know what to do.

Step 11 – I am going to include the list managers part in this, even though it is not something you will do yourself, just so you can see how fiendishly clever this whole thing is.

The list manager will send the following email, or something similar to it, to his list.

“Hi:

Our latest product <product name> is ready for launch through Clickbank. It sells for <price> and comes with a 75% commission. The product creator already has a proven seller in the marketplace currently at number <number>.

Here is the affiliate URL:

http://zzzzz.vendorID.hop.clickbank.net

Make sure you replace the zzzzz with YOUR Clickbank ID.

We also have an affiliate package that you can pick up at:

<URL>

This package includes articles, banners, etc., that you can use to promote the product.

Launch day is <date>

Please let me know if you have any questions at all.

Sincerely,

Launch Manager”

Okay, here is what’s going to happen.

Let’s say the list is 100,000 people. About 20 to 40% will open the email. That means about 20,000 to 40,000 people.

Out of that, 1% to 2% will actually buy the product through their OWN affiliate link. That means between 200 and 400 people right out of the gate pumping your gravity up to between 200 and 400.

And that’s BEFORE they even start promoting it themselves.

The next day, it’s number 1 at Clickbank and the fact that it’s a top selling product just perpetuates the false notion that it’s going to be easy to sell.

What people don’t realize is that this artificial gravity was generated through the above process.

One person…the affiliate manager…made all those sales by getting people to buy through THEIR affiliate links.

No, he didn’t come right out and say “please buy a copy” but he knew damn well that a certain percentage would.

From that point on, its own momentum will keep this thing going until affiliates get tired of promoting it when they see that it’s not so damn easy to sell.

Most of that 300 plus gravity is ONE sale per affiliate. As they drop off, one at a time, others take their place and then THEY sell maybe one or two copies per period.

I’d say that out of a gravity of 300, maybe 3% of that number, or 9 affiliates, are actually making consistent sales…if that many.

Yeah, it’s a racket…and a damn good one.

Not unethical, but as you can see, gravity doesn’t tell the whole story of how good a product at Clickbank REALLY sells.

Another thing the team will do, in promoting this, is rotate their own Clickbank IDs in the promotional scheme. Some of these teams have as many 100 different accounts. Heck, I have 8 alone and I’m just a little squirt when it comes to the Clickbank game.

Anyway, there you have it. Now you know how stupidly easy it is to get YOUR product to the top of the Clickbank marketplace.

You will need to get the following:

  • A product
  • A copywriter
  • A graphics man
  • An article writer

A list manager or affiliate manager with a HUGE list.

That’s all there is to it.

Now, what about the commission breakdown?

Here is how it works.

Affiliates – 75%

Product Creator – 10%

List Manager – 5%

You – 10%

Now, let’s look at some figures before you poo-poo this idea.

Let’s say you sell 300 copies a month for a year. That’s a very conservative estimate.

At $97, that’s $1,080,000 for the year.

You get 10% of that for just putting this little circus act together.

That’s $108,000.

That’s almost my whole income for 2009 selling over 20 products.

Think a product creator won’t take that?

Think a list manager won’t take $54,000 just for sending out an email.

This is the easiest money this group will ever see in their LIVES.
