Dandruff is actually a nightmare for those who already had an encounter, but for the sake of those who don’t; I am going to explain what exactly is dandruff and its common causes.

What Is Dandruff?

Dandruff is a common condition that affects the scalp. It causes the skin of the scalp to become itchy followed by flakes of dead skin.

Dandruff is also medically known as seborrhoea and this condition weakens your scalp primarily due to poor hair brushing, stress and dry skin.

Causes of Dandruff

Dandruff is caused when a type of fungus called Malassezia begins to grow on your scalp; which later results in scalp damage and causes severe dryness. There is another type of dandruff wherein your scalp begins producing more oil and as a result, dandruff appears to be sticky and oily on your hair. Below are some common causes of dandruff…

• Seborrheic dermatitis or sometimes called seborrhea
• Irregular brushing and hair washing.
• Not using shampoo constantly
• Stress, and any kind of mental illness

You see, these methods I will be sharing with you works like magic; as it involves the use of natural shampoo with anti-dandruff hair cream, all of which I will be teaching you in this post.

To make this method successful; you will need to make any of these shampoos that I will be teaching you today plus the anti-dandruff hair cream; apply any of these hair shampoo to your hair with the anti-dandruff hair cream.

1. Chamomile and Apricot Shampoo

Apricot is often used in products to help nourish the skin. Well, it may interest you to know that apricot can also be use to treat hair and scalp. This Chamomile and Apricot shampoo is great on kids’ hair, as the chamomile is especially gentle on sensitive skin.

Ingredients Needed To Make Chamomile and Apricot Shampoo

• 1 tsp of apricot oil
• 2 drops of chamomile essential oil
• ¼ cup of fresh rosemary herbs
• 1/8 tsp of dried dandelion leaves
• 1 cup of distilled water

Step By Step Guide on How To Make Chamomile and Apricot Shampoo

Step 1: Place the dandelion leaves, rosemary herbs, chamomile oil and apricot oil in a food processor.

Step 2: Pour the distilled water

Step 3: Process until smooth, then transfer the contents into a suitable container.

Step 4: Apply this content on your hair as you would with regular shampoo, and rinse off with cool water.

2. Merry Minty Rosemary Shampoo

The mint leaves and peppermint oil used in this shampoo recipe are perfect for helping to keep your hair and scalp feeling cool and clean.

Ingredients Needed To Make Merry Minty Rosemary Shampoo

• 1 drop of rosemary essential oil
• 2 tbsp of mint leaves
• 2 drops of peppermint essential oil
• 2 tbsp of castile oil
• 1 cup of boiled water

Step by Step Guide on How To Make Merry Minty Rosemary Shampoo

Step 1: Put the mint leaves in a cup or small bowl and pour in the boiled water. Make sure all the mint leaves are fully immersed in the water.

Step 2: Let it steep for 15 to 20 minutes. Then gently agitate the leaves once or twice during this time.

Step 3: Strain and keep the liquid; then discard the mint leaves.

Step 4: Let it cool at room temperature before adding the peppermint oil, rosemary oils and the castil oil.

Step 5: Transfer the contents to a suitable container.

How to use: Simply massage the content into your hair and leave for a couple of minutes before rinsing off with cool water.

3. How to Make Anti-Dandruff Hair Cream

This is a very effective anti-dandruff hair cream, and I bet you are going to love it.

Ingredients Needed To Make Anti-Dandruff Hair Cream

• Paraffin oil – 1 liter
• Petroleum jelly – 1/2 kg
• Sulphur powder – 2 tablespoons
• Candle wax – 1/16 kg
• Vitamin E – 15 ml
• Lanolin – 1 teaspoon
• Shea butter` – 1/4 kg
• Menthol – 40ml
• Peppermint – 30ml
• Calyptus, methylsal – 20ml
• perfume – As desired
• Color (oil based) – As desired

Step by Ste Guide On How To Make Anti-dandruff Hair Cream

Step 1: Pour paraffin oil in a dried pot

Step 2: Place the pot on a burner, cooker or stove

Step 3: Add candle wax and allow it to melt; then stir thoroughly.

Step 4: Add petroleum jelly and allow it to melt off; while you stir.

Step 5: Add lanolin and Shea butter, allow to melt; then bring the pot down from burner, cooker or stove.

Step 6: Add menthol and stir.

Step 7: Add Sulphur powder and stir thoroughly to make sure it doesn’t mold together.

Step 8: Add peppermint, calyptus, methylsal and stir very well as you add.

Step 9: Add Vitamin E

Step 10: Add perfume

Step 11: Add color and stir very well
